Gait and Balance

For those who are not confident on their feet, feeling weak, and want to build their independence, this is for you. We are not the ideal facility for neurological care such as post-stroke or advanced multiple sclerosis, but we are ideal if you want personalized improvement in balance, ease of walking, endurance, we are your go-to place.

Gait and Balance

Musculoskeletal Care

We assess your joints, muscles, and nerve function to understand where you're strong, where you need more, and how your muscles and nerves work together during your activities.  We use hands on care to improve stability and mobility of your joints, muscles, and posture as needed, followed by

therapeutic exercises, with the goal of building endurance and strength.

It's a combination of supported exercise in clinic, and exercises you do at home for long-term benefit.

Lifestyle Coaching

Many people underestimate the power of nutrition, quality sleep, social support, and movement in their health goals, but we don't! We ask questions and make thoughtful suggestions, always with the goal of giving you the tools you need to feel independent and strong.

We try to understand your daily habits, so our suggestions fit seamlessly into your lifestyle.

Gait and Balance Specific

Walking is one of the single best things you can do for yourself, so when it feels challenging, it can feel like you're just not getting enough movement. We analyze and adjust your gait as needed, play games to emphasize dual tasking, reaction-times, and safety, use balance pads to develop your proprioception (how you know what your body is doing) and so much more. We keep it fun and applicable to activities and hobbies you love whenever possible.

Comfort Care

Physical Therapy has gotten the reputation of just "massage and exercise". We go beyond. Our hands-on techniques are about ensuring your body can do what you need it to do, exercise is used to reinforce that ability and get you back to your life. But we also know aches and pains are frustrating. That's why we include ultrasound, paraffin wax treatments, TENS, moist hot packs, or ice, in each session to help you leave feeling calm and with less pain.

Gait and Balance Physical Therapy

What is our process behind building your walking and balance?

It begins with an evaluation: We measure how well your joints move, how the muscles feel when you move and at rest, we measure your strength, endurance. We start to get an understanding of your daily routines, how you feel about your pain, and your goals. We will ask about your habits around sleep, food, hydration; we'll ask about your support system. We also play games and assess how your body responds to them - quick walking, balance, ball catching, visual games, and more.

We use this information to set a Plan of Care: part of this is what we can do for you. We use manual therapy and tools to help reduce pain and improve your function, feel confident and comfortable in your body. Then we also teach movement and exercises that you can do here, and at home, so your recovery continues even when you're not here and you feel empowered in your life. We play games together that challenge you, with our full support. We provide suggestions to improve sleep quality, nutrition, and more so your body has the tools to progress

We help you see your progress every step of the way. We reassess and fine tune every step of the way.

Because when we do our job right - you know you're better for life.
